Ibuprofen

Anti-inflammatory, analgesic and ati-pyretic. Analgesic effect is independent of anti-inflammatory activity and has both central and peripheral effect. Temparature is reduced in febrile patients. Prevents formation of thromboxane A2 by platelets. May delay onset labour.

Indications & Dosage:

Oral – Musculo Skeletal Pains of all types including trauma, RA, OA and ankylosing Spondylitis. And Other Pains : 1.2-1.8 g/day in 3-4 divided doses preferably after food. Children -20mg/kg in divided doses. Not recommended for Children below 7.
Fever & Pain in Children:
20-30 mg/kg/day in divided doses(1-2)yrs:50mg 3-4 times a day(3-7 years)Infant(6months to 1 year) 50mg in 3 divided doses.
Bowel Disease – 2.4g/day.

Ibuprofen B.P. 400mg

Composition : (Ibuprofen Suspension 60ml)

Each 5ml contains

Ibuprofen B.P. 25mg

Safety Alert:

CL: Active peptic ulcer. Hypersens, recent G.I. Bleeding, neonates.
SP: Asthma , renal or hepatic disprders.Pregnancy/Lactation.
INT POT-HAZ: Aspirin displaces ibuprofen for serum binding sites hence should be avoided.Other – Antagonises effects of frusemide & thiszides.
ADR POT-LT: Others – Dyspepsia, GI bleeding, rash , thrombocytopenia , heartburn , depression and hypersensitivity.
IN FOOD: Rate but not the extent of absorption is reducted.


Ibucare (Ibuprofen + Paracetamol)

Ibuprofen is a potent antiinflammatory with anagesic and antipyretic action.It’ effects are further reinforced by paracetamol.

Indications & Dosage:

Oral – All painful inflammatory conditions related to musculo skeletal tissues, inflammatory dental conditions.:
(1 buprofen 400mg + paracetamol325/500mg) 1 tablet 3-4 times a day. Children: (I buprofen 100mg + paracetamol 125mg) 1 dose a day.

Paracetamol B.P. 325mg

Caffeine Anhydrous B.P. 40mg

INT FOOD: Food interferes with the rate but not the extent of ibuprofen absorption.
